Everyone has their own version of a family gathering and mine is almost here. It’s been a long time since I attended one and there are certain to be a few new additions as well as the older familiar faces. But back to the serious business of the food and my family take food very seriously. Signatures dishes and speciality foods only, go large or go home. Interlopers have been discouraged, kin only ’cause we ain’t sharing’. The WhatsApp group has been ablaze with who’s bringing what, accompanied by a healthy dose of banter. I actually found myself checking the size of my oven one morning this week, just in case.
