Finding form

Everything is finally back in its place and again I have successfully managed to weave writing around various comings and goings to still get a result. The enjoyable talkative weekend with friends has seen me return to scriptwriting form with a short sketch. At the beginning of the week I had nothing, but slowly it gets there. I’m still surprised at the process; I dare not say it’s getting easier, but I am more comfortable with it.  I also dedicated more time and with that came more content, leading to thoughts of the future. Should I be doing even more? For example, dusting off my creative portfolio for that much-needed edit and entering it into competitions? Also, can I work on more than one project at a time now that I have more capacity, or is it time to focus on getting an actual writing job?

Of course, it is far too soon to be considering any of this. I have not even reached the obligatory 28 days that most people require to form a new habit, but the mind will wonder if it’s allowed and it has been a month since the break from 9 to 5 work. I’m definitely over that, so I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this brain chatter has occurred now.  But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, this is a good space that I intend to enjoy a little while longer.
